On this Page you will find the History of G.A.R. Cemetery from it's first interment through 1946. 

You will also find the 1947 Disinterments from Pilchuck Cemetery to G.A.R. and a full list of Civil War Veterans from Morton Post #10. 

We will upload more historical documents to this site when we receive them.

Chronological History of G.A.R. 

The Chronological History of G.A.R. was found in the office files and seems to be written by Mary Walton, Secretary Treasurer of the Legion in the 1980's. It contains the first interment at G.A.R. through 1946.

Morton Post #10 Muster Report

The O.P. Morton Post #10 of the Grand Army of the Republic was established in 1884 with 16 charter members, led by Commander H.G. York. By 1888, the membership had grown to 40 members. Morton Post #10 is who founded the G.A.R. Cemetery in Snohomish.
